About the Operation Basketball Program :: Go Café Lions
The Community Alliance of the Far Eastside is a light of hope and a home for
so many people. Primarily our young people benefit most. My career as a
sheriff has seen the hopelessness of our young people far too much. The New
Generation Artist Inc Basketball Program offers a safe haven from the streets
of crime during Open Basketball night. Mr. Thompson not only teaches the game of
basketball, he teaches them their history and the game of life.

New Generation Artist Basketball was birth out from the Far Eastside Neighborhood
Center’s open night basketball. The Café as its better known, desire
was to use the basketball gym as a lure to keep young people off the street and out
of trouble.

Cafe’s goal was not only to attract youth, but detour crime in the community. Many of the young men are Junior High and High School students from the neighborhood.
New Generation Artist was asked to come as a partner to the Center to focus programming toward teenage youth. Open Basketball night has become a tool for the staff at NGA to help with tools for the game of life.
